Aletheia Privacy Policy

Aletheia (“the app”) is a personal spending categorizer. This policy describes what we collect and why. It applies to the iOS app and the web app at GitHub Pages.

Who we are

Aletheia is operated by Lucas de Levy Oliveira. Contact: use the email associated with your Apple or Google account request, or the support email listed on the App Store listing.

Data we collect

• Account: name, email, optional profile photo, and a Google or Apple user ID, used to sign you in. Apple may provide a Hide My Email address instead of your personal inbox.
• Financial data: bank and card transactions you upload as CSV or that we sync via Open Finance (Pierre), including payee, amount, date, category, and account nicknames.
• Device: an iOS push token, so we can send spending-limit alerts you opt into.
• Family: if you join a family, other members can see shared month data you contribute.

How we use it

Only to run Aletheia: sign-in, categorize spend, show dashboards, sync Open Finance, and send limit-breach notifications. We do not sell data or use it for advertising or tracking across other companies’ apps.

Where it is stored

Account, statements, categories, and device tokens are stored in Amazon Web Services (DynamoDB) in the United States. Open Finance credentials are encrypted at rest and decrypted only inside the sync worker.

Sharing

We share data with:

• Google, for Sign-In on web and iOS.
• Apple, for Sign in with Apple on iOS and to deliver push notifications.
• Pierre / Open Finance providers, when you connect an API key, to fetch your transactions.
• Family members you invite, for shared months.

Retention

We keep your data while your account exists. Hidden transactions remain in storage but are excluded from totals. When you delete your account in the app, we delete personal data associated with your user ID (profile, sessions, device tokens, your statements, category config, and account records), except data we must keep for legal reasons. If you belong to a family with other members, shared months stay with the family; you are removed. If you are the only remaining owner, the family is dissolved.

Your choices

• You can sign out at any time.
• You can delete your account and associated data from the side menu in the iOS app or the web app. That action cannot be undone.
• You can disable notifications in iOS Settings.
• You can disconnect Open Finance keys in Accounts.

Children

Aletheia is not directed at children under 13.

Changes

We may update this policy. The date at the top will change when we do.

Seus direitos

Você pode sair da conta, desligar notificações e desconectar chaves. Para excluir a conta e os dados associados, use Excluir conta no menu lateral do app iOS ou do site. A exclusão é permanente. Se você estiver em uma família com outros membros, os meses compartilhados permanecem com a família.
